As prices rebounded, miner revenue also increased. The estimated hash rate rose from $56.02 per petahash (PH/s) to $58.14 per PH/s. This figure reflects the expected value of computing power at one petahash per second.
The surge in hashrate has accelerated the block time interval, which was previously less than 10 minutes. Currently, block finding is slightly faster, averaging 9 minutes and 51 seconds. There are currently 187 blocks remaining until the next difficulty adjustment.
If blocks continue to be generated at this rate, the next difficulty change may increase. This change is tentatively scheduled for August 8, 2025, and is expected to increase by 1.46%—although this estimate may still change. Meanwhile, as the hashrate approaches 1000 EH/s, Bitcoin is getting closer to reaching and maintaining one zettahash per second (ZH/s).
